CBSE School Project on Two Great Indian National Freedom Fighters

Bhagat Singh
·         Bhagat Singh aka “Shaheed Bhagat Singh” was an Indian socialist and a revolutionary.
·         Bhagat Singh was born on 28th Sep-1907 in the state of Punjab.
·         He is considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian Independence Movement.
·         He gave the quotation: “Inquilab Zindabad” (Long live the revolution).
·         He was hanged on 23 March 1931 in a jail located in Lahore.
·         India’s most famous freedom fighter was only 23 years old when he was hanged.
·         His death inspired hundreds to take up the cause of the Indian freedom movement.

Jawaharlal Nehru
·         Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India.
·         Nehru was born at Allahabad on 14 November 1889.
·         He joined hands with Mahatma Gandhi and fought for freedom movement of India.
·         After Independence he became Prime Minister of India and served for 17 Long Years.
·         He was instrumental in creating reforms and can rightly be called the architect of modern India
·         Nehru loves children and affectionately being called as “Chacha Nehru. His Birthday is observed as “Children’s day”.
·         Nehru died during the year of 1964 and his memorial named as “Shantivan” meaning as “forest of peace
Nehru was a prolific writer in English and some of his notable books are “The Discovery of India” and his autobiography “Towards Freedom”.
