Below are the Interview Questions, which were asked in HR Round.....

No one will GET second chance to impress....

Very very Impressive Questions and Answers..... ...

Question 1:

You are driving along in your car on a wild, stormy night,

it's raining heavily, when suddenly you pass by a bus stop, and you see

three people waiting for a bus:

An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.

An old friend who once saved your life.

The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.

Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing very well that

there could only be one passenger in your car?

This is a moral/ethical dilem ma that was once ac tually used as part of a

job application.

* You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus

you should save her first;

* or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and

this would be the perfect chance to! pay him back.

* However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming

up with his answer. Guess what was his answer?

He simply answered:

"I would give the car keys to my Old friend and let him take the lady to

the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner

of my dreams."

Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought

limitations. Never forget to "Think Outside of the Box."

Question 2:

What will you do if I run away with your sister?"

The candidate who was selected answered " I will not get a better match

for my sister than you sir"

Question 3:

Interviewer (to a student girl candidate) - What is one morning you woke

up & found that you were pregnant.

Girl - I will be very excited and take an off, to celebrate with my husband.

Normally an unmarried girl will be shocked to hear this, but she managed

it well. Why I should think it in the wrong way, she said later when asked

Question 4:

Interviewer: He ordered a cup of coffee for the candidate. Coffee arrived

kept before the candidate, then he asked what is before you?

Candidate: Instantly replied "Tea"

He got selected.

You know how and why did he say "TEA" when he knows very well that coffee

was kept before.

(Answer: The question was "What is before you (U - alphabet) Reply was

"TEA" ( T - alphabet)

Alphabet "T" was before Alphabet "U"

Question 5:

Where Lord Rama would have celebrated his "First Diwali"?

People will start thinking of Ayodya, Mitila [Janaki's place], Lanka

etc...

But the logic is, Diwali was a celebrated as a mark of Lord Krishna

Killing N arakasura. In Dusavata ar, Krishnavatha ar comes after

Raa mavatha ar.

So, Lord Rama would not have celebrated the Diwali At all!

Question 6:

The interviewer asked to the candidate "This is your last question of the

interview. Please tell me the exact position of the center of this table

where u have kept your files."

Candidate confidently put one of his finger at some point at the table

and told that this was the central point at the table.

Interviewer asked how did u get to know that this being the central point

of this table, then he answers quickly that

"sir u r not likely to ask any more question, as it was the last question

that u promised to ask....."

And hence, he was selected as because of his quick-wittedness. .......

This is What Interviewer expects from the Interviewee. ...

My maiden Flight Journey

Hailed from a middle class family flight travel is a dream for me from my childhood days and whenever used to come across flights by crossing the airport or seeing up in the sky looking it with some yearning...

Turning my dream into reality an opportunity has came to fly to Hyderabad for an assignment and hearing the same itself my thoughts are filled surrounding it.

Kingfisher Red has got the privilege of accommodating me and time of travel will be Saturday @ 5.55 am. Packed off my bags in a day before itself, as i normally won't do, I rehearsed myself thrice in my home for my behavioral in airport as well as inside the flight. Dropped by my brother along with the company of my close-mate made entry into the airport lobby for check-in.

Even though its my maiden journey and second one for my friend we are aware of all airport procedures from check-in to final call as we have enough experience in sendoff's of friends and relatives.(So many tatabyebye's so far)

Verifying our identify proofs and baggage checks,Seats has been allotted (My birth date 14 and 15) and we are being directed to the lobby where we are supposed to wait till the time of boarding. Still i remember my child hood days and even now too about my fond of seeing baggage tags carrying the name of airlines and passenger name tied with the luggage's and as soon as i was being issued with an one strongly knotted the same with my hand luggage's and had a great sign of satisfaction.

Exactly 20 mnts before the time of departure we got the first call for boarding and waiting for it we make ready ourselves by refreshing in restroom and moved to the exit door. During this time off itself we both made call to our betterparts(wifes) who only hear our stories at this early hours. Final security check has been done and we are permitted to getin the airport bus which takes us to the steps of boarding plane. Even though seen this bus in so many movies
(Speed1 & Speed2) traveling in this first time is also a owe some experience.

Arrived at the entrance of flight i got disappointed a bit as the size of plane is too small then my expectation and later googled and found that for short distances especially budgetory airlines use 727 aircrafts instead of Jumbo or 747.

Greeted by both a Flight Steward and air hostess we are being directed to our seats and as soon as we occupied the same based on his prior experience my friend make himself comfortable by wearing his seat belts and started yawning. Feeling shy,i started my research on wearing the seat belt and at last in a timegap of 5 to 8 mnts i made myself locked into it. Proving that an`first time flyer i started seeing here and there inside the plane and testing the switches up and down, anyone who noticed me will surely got irritated of my child level activities. But for the sake of them i can't control myself as i decided to fully explore myself during this maiden trip.

Time has come for the take off on the mode of announcement from the co-pilot wondered about the superiority role of commander. Wherever it may be office or airplane seniors are seniors and juniors are juniors only...Job nature won't change few things.

My Trip to Tirumala

After sending my wife and Kid to my Mil's Homewtown for a marriage function got a temporary chance of becoming bachelor again and having plans in mind for the weekend got a call from my close-mate Rajesh for a trip to tirupathi.

Some of his officemates are the orginators and this offer comes with a double package of Tirupathi and a visit to the tourism spot Talaikonam near by to it. Without any hesitations said Double ok and startoff time for the same has been scheduled as 8:30 pm of saturday.Rajesh Home will be the pickup point for we two and Toyota-Innova came as planned carrying the rest 3.

Two balas and swaminathan all three colleques, to my close mate are our other partners for this trip. Started from kolathur at around 8:45 pm,slowly we started getting out from City traffic.Plan will be taking the route via redhills,Tada to tirupathi and on reaching the outskirts of city only realised that my journey in Innova is with a Mini-Schumacher(Bala-1).

Never thought that this Big car can be drived with this much of fast and elegance and for me really its a Thrill rider only.As a well-seasoned rally driver he make use of all available horse power provided by Toyota(Brakes too) and on the way also shown some stunts of driving the vehicle without lights(Power saver and Global warming initiative)

Cutoff time for clearance from tirupathi to tirumala is 12:00 of midnite and tagetting the same reached sharply tirupathi at 11:45 pm. Songs and the exciting drive keeps all of us fresh and on compeltion of security checks our thrill rides turm from normal roads to Hill roads. As same in the Highways our schumacher shown his talents and all of them got a chance of exercising themself in the car itself in the sharp U-turns and bends.20 mNts is the lap period for our racer from tirupathi to thirumala and leaving the vehicle in the parking spot moved to the next phase of identyfying the way for darshan.

300 Rupees ticket is the Ultimate choice and the same will be opened for darshan only at 4:00 am. Completing our midnite dinner of fried rice and dosas we all get ready to line up in the queue and crowd there is not as we have in the mind. Already its packed off with more than 50+ at 1:30 am we take off our postions and slowly started taking sleep in in the queue platform itself. There are times I used to think off people who used to live in the roadsides and having sleep there itself. Wondered how they are having that much of pleasant sleep in the open road with lights and sounds always on.God gave his answers to me and in the queue our sleep is really as pleasant as we have in our homes.

Crowd started moving slowly at 4:00 am and in a time span of 45 mnts max we are in the place whwre we want to be. Gods grace has fallen on us and in the midst of crowd we had the darshan in a full hearted manner.Coming out we gathered the free prasadam and on offering of Rs.10 got extra of that too.Next to God in tirupathi Laddu is the important part of attraction and for 300 rs ticket two laddus will be offered. Queue for collecting the same is not big and really the arrangements of devostanam is imperssive.

Variet of tickets free darsha, 50 Rs , Seva tickets, 300 Rs Ticket all has separate counters and managing the same with clean and care is a awesome work.Trying to get extra laddus other than the offered ones we came across with a photo seller outside the block offering a single laddu ticket for 50 Rs in the black market. Though its against the rules violating the same got it and extra laddu per head was added to our prasada collection.

Downside journery from tirumala to tirupathi at that early morning time is also a rollergoaster ride and enjoying the same without any afraid because of the confidence with our schumacher. Reached kalahasti to have a word with a friend of them from hyderabad and on Completion of the visit and breakfast started moving towards Thalaikonam tourist spot.

Not much I heard about and in the team i was only the first time visitor,so excitment and curious to see the place is much more to me than the others. From tirupathi it is located at a distance of merley 60 to 70 kms and most of the distance needs to be covered towards beyond the NH only.Even though the same is part of intervillage roads, quality of the same is really to be appreciated. Clean and distruction free road made our travel comfort and only hurdle we come across is locating the place. Eventhough the rest of the team had gone through twice everything seems to be new and make pitstops of 5 to 6 for enquiry.

Atlast our destination came in front of our eyes when the clock is ticking as 11:30 am....Even though it is the start of the summer still we feel the heat eventhough the entire journey is in a car which is best known for cooling in the market....Thalaikonam seems to be identical as other waterfalls spots as i visited and at the time of reaching seen a telugu film crew who was busy in shooting an film in which Mohanbabu son as a hero....Not concentrating much on the same we proceed with the purpose and started our water heroism instantly....Need to say out of 5 only a single sole Schumacher bala can swim in water and rest we all are good known for the therotical part of it...

Sleepliness, hectic travel, heat everything was forget by the entire team and more than we expect the water which is in the form of small pond is too chill to reach....Not much chance left and only we are able to delay our drop by few mnts and entire team assembled in water for next

Windows Server Interview Tips

What is PAE:
In computing, Physical Address Extension (PAE) is a feature of x86 and x86-64 processors that enable the use of more than 4 gigabytes[1] of physical memory to be used in 32-bit systems, given appropriate operating system support. PAE is provided by Intel Pentium Pro and above CPUs (including all later Pentium-series processors except the 400 MHz bus versions of the Pentium M), as well as by some compatible processors such as the Athlon and later models from AMD.

The x86 processor hardware is augmented with additional address lines used to select the additional memory, so physical address size is increased from 32 bits to 36 bits. This increases maximum physical memory size from 4 GB to 64 GB. The 32-bit size of the virtual address is not changed, so regular application software continues to use instructions with 32-bit addresses and (in a flat memory model) is limited to 4 gigabytes of virtual address space. The operating system uses page tables to map this 4 GB address space into the 64 GB of RAM, and the map is usually different for each process. In this way, the extra memory is useful even though no single regular application can access it all simultaneously.

For application software which needs access to more than 4 GB of RAM, some special mechanism may be provided by the operating system in addition to the regular PAE support.

What is AWE:
Address Windowing Extensions (AWE) is a Microsoft Windows application programming interface that allows a 32-bit software application to access more physical memory than it has virtual address space. The process of mapping an application's virtual address space to physical memory under AWE is known as "windowing," and is similar to the "overlay" concept of other environments. AWE is beneficial to certain data-intensive applications, such as database management systems and scientific and engineering software, that need to manipulate very large data sets.

The application reserves a region, or "window" of virtual address space, and allocates one or more regions of physical memory. Using the AWE API, the application can map the virtual window to any one of the physical regions. The application can reserve more than one virtual address space and map it to any of the allocated regions of physical memory, as long as the number of bytes reserved in the virtual address space matches that of the physical memory region.

AWE usage is coded into the application itself. An application must have the Lock Pages in Memory privilege to use AWE.

AWE does not depend on Physical Address Extension support or vice versa[1].

Diff between emergency disk and ASR
Emergency Repair Disk (ERD) is a specially formated bootable floppy disk made by some Windows operating systems that contains information about a particular Windows installation. This disk is designed to be used with the NTFS file system, and can be used to restore a computer to a bootable state if the registry or other fundamental system components are damaged.
Automated System Recovery (ASR) is a windows tool used to simplify recovery of a server's system or boot volumes. ASR consists of two parts: an automated backup, and an automated restore. The backup portion can be accessed in the Backup utility under System Tools.
ASR does not backup user's files or other data, only data necessary for restoring the system configuration state. Other backup systems should be put in place to ensure user's actual data files are also backed up. In the event of a failure an ASR restore is performed first, which allows user files to then be recovered.
ASR should be used only as a last resort because in preparation for a restore ASR will format the system and boot volumes of the hardrive, making other, less drastic recovery methods impossible.

ER replace Missing or corrupt system files but did not format drives or reconfigure storage info

ASR always format the boot volume and system volume before restoring the system
ASR automatically restore a system to working state after a system failure

What is Stub Zone
A stub zone is a copy of a zone that contains only those resource records necessary to identify the authoritative Domain Name System (DNS) servers for that zone. A stub zone is used to resolve names between separate DNS namespaces. This type of resolution may be necessary when a corporate merger requires that the DNS servers for two separate DNS namespaces resolve names for clients in both namespaces.

A stub zone consists of:

* The start of authority (SOA) resource record, name server (NS) resource records, and the glue A resource records for the delegated zone.
* The IP address of one or more master servers that can be used to update the stub zone.

The master servers for a stub zone are one or more DNS servers authoritative for the child zone, usually the DNS server hosting the primary zone for the delegated domain name.

What is the difference between Hardware RAID and Software RAID?

A: Hardware RAID uses a dedicated RAID controller card to provide RAID capabilities and is NOT operating system dependent. The RAID controller card used in a Hardware RAID configuration consists of an embedded processor that offloads all RAID processes, commands, and algorithms from the system processor and memory to that of the Hardware RAID controller. This allows the system processor to process other various commands.
Software RAID uses either a standard IDE or SCSI controller in conjunction with the operating system to provide RAID capabilities. Software RAID uses the system processor and memory, thus using precious processor time, making it unavailable to network and operating system requests, which in turn can slow down the response times and performance of the computer.

What is MBSA tool?
MBSA(Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer) is a tool used to check which security updates and service packs are to be installed on a server. It can be used to get the printouts of a report so that data related to the previous and current updates can be stored for further reference. MBSA tool can also be used to check for the updates that are to be evaluated and applied to SQL Server 2005 or an operating system.

What is FSMO:
Flexible single master operation
Domain-wide FSMO Roles:
Relative ID Master
Infrastructure Master
PDC Emulator
Forest-wide FSMO Roles:
Schema Master
Domain Naming Master

Schema Master: The schema master domain controller controls all updates and modifications to the schema. To update the schema of a forest, you must have access to the schema master. There can be only one schema master in the whole forest.
Domain naming master: The domain naming master domain controller controls the addition or removal of domains in the forest. There can be only one domain naming master in the whole forest.
Infrastructure Master: The infrastructure is responsible for updating references from objects in its domain to objects in other domains. At any one time, there can be only one domain controller acting as the infrastructure master in each domain.
Relative ID (RID) Master: The RID master is responsible for processing RID pool requests from all domain controllers in a particular domain. At any one time, there can be only one domain controller acting as the RID master in the domain.
PDC Emulator: The PDC emulator is a domain controller that advertises itself as the primary domain controller (PDC) to workstations, member servers, and domain controllers that are running earlier versions of Windows. For example, if the domain contains computers that are not running Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Microsoft Windows 2000 client software, or if it contains Microsoft Windows NT backup domain controllers, the PDC emulator master acts as a Windows NT PDC. It is also the Domain Master Browser, and it handles password discrepancies. At any one time, there can be only one domain controller acting as the PDC emulator master in each domain in the forest.

What is Active Directory? Active Directory is a network-based object store and service that locates and manages resources, and makes these resources available to authorized users and groups. An underlying principle of the Active Directory is that everything is considered an object—people, servers, workstations, printers, documents, and devices. Each object has certain attributes and its own security access control list (ACL).

How can you authenticate between forests?

Four types of authentication are used across forests: (1) Kerberos and NTLM network logon for remote access to a server in another forest; (2) Kerberos and NTLM interactive logon for physical logon outside the user’s home forest; (3) Kerberos delegation to N-tier application in another forest; and (4) user principal name (UPN) credentials

What types of classes exist in Windows Server 2003 Active Directory?
Structural class. The structural class is important to the system administrator in that it is the only type from which new Active Directory objects are created. Structural classes are developed from either the modification of an existing structural type or the use of one or more abstract classes.
Abstract class. Abstract classes are so named because they take the form of templates that actually create other templates (abstracts) and structural and auxiliary classes. Think of abstract classes as frameworks for the defining objects.
Auxiliary class. The auxiliary class is a list of attributes. Rather than apply numerous attributes when creating a structural class, it provides a streamlined alternative by applying a combination of attributes with a single include action.
88 class. The 88 class includes object classes defined prior to 1993, when the 1988 X.500 specification was adopted. This type does not use the structural, abstract, and auxiliary definitions, nor is it in common use for the development of objects in Windows Server 2003 environments

What Is the Global Catalog?
Global catalog contains a partial replica of every Windows 2000 domain in the directory. The GC lets users and applications find objects in an Active Directory domain tree given one or more attributes of the target object. It also contains the schema and configuration of directory partitions. This means the global catalog holds a replica of every object in the Active Directory, but with only a small number of their attributes. ...

What is a domain?

Domain as “a single security boundary of a Windows NT-based computer network.
What is a tree?
defines a tree as “a set of Windows NT domains connected together through transitive, bidirectional trust, sharing a common schema, configuration, and global catalog.
What is a forest?
defines a forest as “a group of one or more Active Directory trees that trust each other.
What is a schema?
“the definition of an entire database; the universe of objects that can be stored in the directory is defined in the schema.

What is an organizational unit (OU)

Defines an organizational unit as “a container object that is an Active Directory administrative partition.

What is a group policy
Group policy “refers to applying policy to groups of computers and/or users contained within Active Directory containers.

Win2000 & Win2003 Diff:
2003 supports up to 64 processors and max of 512GB RAM
2000 Supports IIS 5.0 and 2003 Supports IIS6.0
2000 has Server and Advance Server editions whereas 2003 has Standard, Enterprise, Datacentre and Web server Editions
Increased security for Internet connections
In 2000 we can create 1 million users and in 2003 we can create 1 billion users
In 2003 we have concept of Volume shadow copy service which is used to create hard disk snap shot which is used in Disaster recovery and 2000 doesn’t have this service
Automated System Recovery(ASR) is there, but 2k only Emergency Repair Disk(ERD) is there
In 2000 we cannot rename domain whereas in 2003 we can rename Domain
In 2000 we have cross domain trust relation ship and 2003 we have Cross forest trust relationship.

Stub zone is available
Where is the AD database held
The AD data base is store in NTDS.DIT

What is the SYSVOL folder?

The sysVOL folder stores the server’s copy of the domain’s public files. The contents such as group policy, users etc of the sysvol folder are replicated to all domain controllers in the domain

Files backup up during System state data backup:
Boot files and system files
Registry
